We choose only natural, untreated materials: wood, cotton, wool, materials as honest as the hands that will hold them.
This matters more than it might seem — the chemicals, heavy metals, and microplastics common in mass-market toys can quietly affect a child’s development, their small bodies far more sensitive to what they touch and taste than ours. We’d rather choose pieces that ask nothing of a child’s wellbeing, and nothing unnecessary of the earth either.

Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to Chosen with care, from makers we trust.
Every piece at Nela & Noa is thoughtfully selected from independent European and American brands — the kind of makers who share our belief in quality, gentle materials, and considered design.
More than 80% of what we offer comes from Europe and the US, chosen for how well it holds up to a childhood well lived.
Many of our pieces come from small ateliers and independent makers who still work close to the material — carving, weaving, or finishing by hand rather than on an assembly line.
We seek out that kind of craftsmanship because it shows: in the grain of solid wood, the weight of organic cotton, the small imperfections that mark something made with attention rather than mass-produced.
